Illuminated Nature: Chandeliers & Sculptural Lighting by Clare Celeste Börsch

There’s something magical about art that is luminous. When light meets paper — especially paper layered with botanical forms and organic silhouettes — it can transform a space into something soft, enchanted, and alive.

My custom chandeliers and lighting artworks are designed to do exactly that: to bring a delicate, nature-inspired atmosphere into interiors through sculptural, illuminated collage.

Where Art Meets Light

These pieces are created using handcrafted papers, cut into intricate forms — from foliage and flowers to birds and beautiful fauna. When illuminated, they come alive: casting soft, shifting shadows and creating immersive, dreamlike environments.

Each piece functions both as a light source and a sculpture, suspended from the ceiling or installed as a canopy of layered botanical elements. Depending on the space, a lighting piece might evoke the feeling of:

  • A forest floor bathed in dappled light

  • A floating garden blooming overhead

  • A soft, glowing habitat of butterflies or petals

No matter the concept, the result is an artwork that invites stillness, softness, and awe.

Custom Designed for Each Space

Each lighting piece begins with a digital design to scale — ensuring it integrates beautifully with your space and lighting needs. I work closely with clients to develop the tone, intensity, and composition of the piece, and adapt the materials accordingly. These may include:

  • Handmade or archival translucent paper

  • Cut and layered collage components

  • Lightweight structure for hanging

  • Integrated light sources (direct or ambient)

The final piece is always site-specific — designed not only to fit the room, but to elevate its emotional and visual atmosphere.

Ideal for Hotels, Restaurants, and Residences

These sculptural lighting works are especially suited to hospitality and residential interiors — creating intimate, memorable focal points in dining areas, lounges, bedrooms, lobbies, and wellness spaces. Whether a single chandelier or a constellation of suspended elements, each piece brings a soft, organic presence to the space.

Let’s Light Up Something Beautiful

If you’re dreaming of a light sculpture that brings nature indoors — gentle, textural, and alive with shadow and light — I’d love to hear from you. Let’s create something luminous.
